Aion 2 Crafting Guide: Professions, Levels, Gathering

This Aion 2 crafting guide covers the five professions, mastery levels, the recipe ladder, gathering and Substance Morph. Most numbers come from the Global client as read by third-party sites, and each fact carries its label. Which profession is best is opinion, so we show the views side by side.

There are five crafting professions: Blacksmithing, Armorsmithing, Handicrafting, Alchemy and Cooking. Gathering is a separate skill called Essence Extraction. Crafting, Gathering and Substance Morph all unlock at character level 10. The client's internal tables call Armorsmithing Tailoring and Handicrafting Jewelcrafting, but the English game shows the first names.

Mastery runs 1 to 100 in two ranks: Novice 1 to 50 and Professional 51 to 100. Three sites agree on this. Observed 2026-10-14 Source

Mastery stays at 50 until you pass the profession's upgrade quest, for example "Upgrade: Blacksmithing Specialty Skill". The test item there is a Novice Blacksmith's Hammer from 6 Orichalcum Ingots and 3 Odyle.
Crafting stations are in each faction's main field map. Elyos use Dawn Legion Base and Zumion Village in Verteron. Asmodians use Safe Haven and Nornir Assembly in Altgard.
Recipes unlock automatically as mastery rises. There are no recipe books for the standard list.
No recipe charges a Kina crafting fee.

Recipes, great success and crafted gear

MetaBot counts 512 recipes, 256 per faction. 190 are upgrade recipes that need an item you already own and have no mastery requirement. Wikily counts 527 because it also lists Crafting Combos and Transfer Crafting as entries. The two counts measure different things.

Great success chance is 25% on most gear and potions, 30% on Cooking and 20% on some Alchemy Manastone recipes. On gear it gives the Splendent version, for example an Orichalcum Longsword (item level 18) becomes Splendent (item level 22). The next recipe in the line needs that Splendent piece.
Crafting Combo is Wikily's term for a chance to replace the normal result when a craft succeeds. It is likely the same mechanic as great success, but that is not confirmed.
Transfer Crafting carries Enhancement, Amplify level and Soul Binding to the new item.

Client-data 2026-10-14 Source Dragon Lord recipes unlock from mastery 55 (weapons, rings, chests, legs, helms, pauldrons) and 60 (guards, necklaces, earrings, gloves, boots, cloaks). Upgrade steps have no mastery requirement.

Top recipes need dungeon materials. The True Dragon Lord Longsword takes an Artisan's Splendent sword, 4 Artisan's Ultimate Refining Stone, 22 Fine Thick Balaur Horn, 10 Wrathful Mind, 9 Radiant Orichalcum Ore and 5 Radiant Odyle. The Wise Dragon Lord tier needs 41 Fine Durable Balaur Horn and 20 Wrathful Ego. Plan your dungeon runs around this.

Gathering and Substance Morph

Gathering has 27 node types in eight groups: Odyle, ore, gems, wood, herbs, vegetables, berries and shellfish. All unlock at gathering mastery 1. Ore, gem, wood and Odyle nodes roll four grades (Common, Rare, Epic, Unique) from the same node. Gathering skills include Seeker (compass), Plentiful Harvest and Appraiser, plus Delicate Touch, Proficient Handling and Lady Luck. You get 95 skill points over 100 levels plus 14 specialty points.

Gathering stays at 50 until you pass "Upgrade: Essence Extraction Specialty Skill" (unlocks from character level 10, recommended 45). Extract Ruby until you get a Splendent Ruby.
8,445 gathering spawn points are mapped. Verteron (2,733) and Altgard (2,692) have the most, then Eltnen (1,435) and Morheim (1,345). The Abyss has only Odyle, with 240 points in Chaotic Lower Reshanta.
Gathering has no daily or weekly limit. The ticket table has no gathering counter.

Daeva Pass pays 30 Pass EXP for each successful gather and 30 for each successful craft, on the Season 1 pass and on Planet's Call. Official 2026-10-14 Source

The 6 October patch raised Raw Leather drop rates in Chaotic Lower Reshanta, Verteron and Altgard. The 14 October patch adds a system that restricts Market listing of gathering materials based on gameplay history. The exact rule is not published. Official 2026-10-14 Source

Substance Morph

Substance Morph is the conversion window: 156 recipes in 14 tabs. 42 turn Odyle into bound ore, gems, logs, herbs and cooking ingredients, unlocked by crafting proficiency. Others unseal wings, make candies and medals, and swap dungeon gear for vouchers. 28 recipes are limited per character or server, 16 of them weekly, and 82 are faction-specific. Example: Odyle Energy (Bound) costs 25 Odyle, 5 Fine Odyle, Pure Odyle and 50,000 Kina, limited to 4 per character and 16 per server each week.

The 6 October patch capped the Sealed Wings to Enhance Stones morph at 20 per server each week. During the server-transfer period, Soul Crystal (Bound) and Instant Clear Ticket: Daily Dungeon (Bound) moved to Substance Morph > Special > Wind Breeze Merchants. Is crafting worth it?

Our reading of MetaBot's item level table: craft for one or two key slots you cannot get to drop, most often your weapon, and for consumables you burn every day. Crafting does not replace dungeons, because the top recipes use dungeon materials. Editorial 2026-10-14 Source

Crafted Splendent pieces at item levels 70 and 86 cap at +1 and +3 Amplified. Dungeon gear at the same levels caps at +3 and +5. Only the Ludra raid drops item level 102 outside crafting. Client-data 2026-10-14 Source

Processing raw materials triples the vendor floor: 1 Ruby Gemstone becomes 3 Ruby Powder. Upgrade recipes produce nothing with a Market category. 30 market-listed Cooking products are tradable. Client-data 2026-10-14 Source

The official base success rate of crafting. NC has not published one. A third-party figure of about 74% mixes Korea, Taiwan and Global testing, so we do not use it.
Whether crafted Dragon Lord gear is tradable or Soul-bound on Global. MetaBot counts 96 of 128 normal Blacksmithing and Armorsmithing recipes as Soul-bound and 24 as tradable, while another site says Dragon Lord gear trades on the Market. Soul Binding slot counts on crafted gear are also unconfirmed.

Does Aion 2 have crafting?

Yes. There are five professions (Blacksmithing, Armorsmithing, Handicrafting, Alchemy, Cooking) plus gathering, all unlocked at character level 10.

What is the crafting max level?

100. Novice is 1 to 50 and Professional is 51 to 100. The cap stays at 50 until you pass the profession's upgrade quest.

Is crafting free?

No recipe charges a Kina fee. You pay with materials. Gathering has no daily or weekly limit.

Do I need membership to craft?

No. But selling on the Market needs the Special Quai Membership.

What is a crafting combo?

A chance, when a regular craft succeeds, to replace the result with a better one. The closest term in other sources is great success, 25% on most gear.

Is crafting worth it for gear?

For one or two key slots and for consumables. Top recipes need dungeon materials, so crafting does not replace dungeons.

Can I sell gathered materials?

Yes with membership. From the 14 October patch NC restricts the listing of gathering materials based on gameplay history.

What is Substance Morph?

A conversion system with 156 recipes. It turns Odyle into materials, unseals wings and swaps vouchers, with some weekly limits.
