Aion 2 pets are the game's mounts. One system covers collecting, riding and passive stats, so the words pet and mount mean the same thing here. Most numbers below come from the Global client as read by third-party sites. NC pages cover the free pets, the shop and transfers.
How Aion 2 pets work

Your first pet is a free pick of Fossa, Armadon or Tog. All three are Fera pets. You get it from an early Episode quest: All Geared Up (Elyos) or Gathering Essentials (Asmodian), recommended level 10. The Pets tab opens in the early story, around level 10 or 11.
- Owned pets work without being equipped. Each pet you collect adds a small permanent bonus, for example the Natura pet Fungen gives Stamina +3.
- Every released pet shares one movement profile: run 900, sprint 1,200, glide 500, boosted glide 800. No mount is faster than another.
- Souls are shared across a server. All your characters on one server share pet ownership and Genus Insight, and Insight takes the highest value any character reached.
- A duplicate Pet item turns into a soul.

Pet souls, levels and Genus Insight

Most pets unlock with 5 souls dropped by the monster named on the pet's Source tab. Level 2 needs 25 souls and level 3 needs 75 more, so 100 souls after the unlock. Three independent sites agree on these numbers. Observed 2026-10-14 Source
About 158 pets drop souls in the field. The rest come from the shop or from events. Each pet type also has its own level from 1 to 10, and owning more pets of that type raises it.

Collection rewards pay out at 5 pets, then every 10 pets up to 500. Most give 100 Soul Crystal (Bound), and every 50th gives 10 Empathy Candy (Bound). Collecting 200 pet types earns the title Rule All Creation (Move Speed +1% while owned). Empathy Candy transforms you into your equipped pet. 200 non-Special pets can be used.

The earlier Twitch round (Oct 2 to 4) paid 10 Mysterious Pet Chest (Bound) at 4 hours of watch time. Whether the Pagati price is Bound Kina is not stated, so check the shop tooltip.
Founder's Pack Ultimate ($99.99) contained Pet: Black Dragon. NC lists it as appearance-only, with no additional stats. Founder cosmetics, including this pet, work on every character on the account on any server. The Oct 6 patch also added a free Founder's Pack shop on all characters until NC posts a closure notice.

Official 2026-10-14 Source Each pet is once per server, needs character level 10+, and earns 2,900 Mileage. It goes to Shop Storage of the buying character, then shows in the Pets menu.
- Shop pets are once per server. Shop wings are once per character.
- The Halloween event adds a Special Halloween Chest (250 coins, 1 per server) with a Spooky Scary Skeleton skin and 10,000 Pet Soul Crystal.
- Red Candy is crafted from 60 Candy Key Fragments, once per week per server, and holds 20 Growth Pet Chest (Bound).
- NC makes no stat claim for shop pets in its notices. Treat paid pets as a collection and cosmetic buy.

Pet auto-loot and server transfers

A pet auto-loot feature exists on Global. NC's 8 October EU outage compensation includes 1 day of pet auto-loot for users who had it activated. NC has not said how you buy it. Official 2026-10-14 Source
On a server transfer, all pets and Genus Crystals merge into the destination server's collection and are removed from the old server. Characters you leave behind lose their pets. Pet Level, Collection Level, Collection Rewards, Genus Crystals and Genus Insight all carry over. You choose which server's Genus Insight progress to keep. If you already own a Shop pet on the destination, you get a Pet Reward Ticket, valid to the 24 Nov (PST) maintenance.
Not confirmed yet
These points have no reliable Global source yet. Do not plan around them.
- How pet auto-loot is bought on Global, and its price. One source says a 30-day voucher for 500,000 Kina, another says a ticket limited to two per character per month. Neither is confirmed.
- Whether the Pagati price of 2,000,000 Kina is Bound or unbound.
- The current pet total after the Halloween pets. Two sources give 207 and 206, and both predate Pumpkin Carriage and Little Ghost.
- Which pets count as Special after the Halloween pets.
- Whether Special or shop pets give any stat beyond the passive owned effect.
- Where the hide-pet option sits in the menus. We found no source.
- Per-pet soul sources. The source pages load in pieces and need an in-game check.

A timed feature that picks up drops. NC confirms it exists but has not published how to buy it.
What happens to pets when I transfer servers?
They merge with the destination server's pets and are removed from the old server.
