This Aion 2 beginner guide covers what you need before and during your first week on Global. The game launched on 5 October 2026 (6:00 AM PDT) after Early Access from 30 September. Facts come from NC notices and client data. The class pick and the week plan are our own judgment, and we label them that way.
Cost, platform and what to know before you start
- Free to play with an optional monthly membership. Paid items are cosmetics, a Battle Pass and the membership. You can play solo or with friends.
- Steam and PURPLE share the same content and servers. Official support covers Windows PC only. Linux and Steam Deck are unsupported. A controller works but is not supported.
- No progress carries over from the Taiwan or Korea versions.
- Founder's Pack sales ended on 5 October. Since the 7 October patch, Founder's items (skins, titles) work on other characters and servers, and a free dedicated shop covers missing items.
- NC warns against buying illicit currency and posts account-restriction notices. Do not buy Kinah or items from outside sellers.
A Season 1 Starter pack exists in the shop. Read NC's Common Product Info notice for contents before you buy. The Special Quai Membership (30 days) adds Remote Storage, Personal Trading, Market access, the Quna Exchange Shop and a higher Odyle Energy cap.
You can delete and reroll fast. Since 5 October the delete wait is 24 hours (it was 168), and you can delete from level 1 (it was level 10).
Elyos or Asmodian: pick a faction and server
Each server holds one faction. Every Elyos server is paired with an Asmodian server for the Abyss and other cross-faction modes. You choose Region, then Faction, then server. All instanced content, including dungeons, is cross-server.
No class or stat is faction-locked. Both factions get all 8 classes. 361 faction-tagged gear pieces each have a twin on the other side with the same stats. Pick by friends and looks. Client-data Source
Elyos start in Poeta, then move to Verteron. Asmodians start in Ishalgen, then move to Altgard. Client-data Source

Best beginner class

Systems you meet in the first week

- Episode quests (the main story) are the backbone of leveling. They open wings, Daevanion and Stigma along the way. See the leveling guide.
- Kibelisks are travel points, 61 on each main map. Return Scrolls teleport you to the nearest one you have activated.
- Sealed dungeons on your own faction's map give 2 Daevanion points and 2 skill points each. Clear them as you level.
- Mounts: 207 exist, each unlocked with 5 souls. All run at the same speed and work in every zone.
- Gear: Unique is the top grade in the Global client (item level 36 to 102). Unique enhancement always succeeds to +10, then 65%, 50%, 35%, 25%, 20% to +15 with +5% pity per failure. Nothing breaks. See enchanting.
Official events running now: Halloween (13 October to 3 November PST) and Conquerors of the Abyss (to 27 October PDT). The 7 October patch fixed the Map Pins limit at 30 and added a weekly limit of 20 Substance Morphs per server for Sealed Wings to Enhance Stones.
Suggested first week order

- Pick a faction with your friends.
- Follow the Episode quest chain.
- Touch every Kibelisk you pass.
- Clear sealed dungeons when you are at their level.
- Spend Daevanion and skill points as each board opens.
- Slot your first Stigma at level 22.
- Start a crafting specialty at level 10. See crafting.
- At level 45, move to Conquest and Transcendence. See what to do after level 45.
Check daily and weekly resets once you reach level 45 so you do not miss free rewards.
