Aion 2 weapon choices are tied to your class, so the useful question is how much choice a class really has at the top end. We counted the main hand and off hand items worn by the top 200 level 45 characters of each class (1,600 in all) and measured how concentrated each pick is. This guide gives the most worn weapon for every class, the numbers behind it, and an editorial reading of what a new player should do with them.

How the weapon slots show up in the data

Official-sample 2026-10-18

Each character wears one main hand and one off hand. The off hand is a guard-type item. Main hands are class-bound: no main hand item is worn by more than one class. Off hands behave differently: 10 off hand items are worn by more than one class, out of 16 seen. The main hand types we see are Longsword, Bow, Dagger, Staff, Greatsword, Spellbook, Orb and Mace.

We count each class separately, so a share means the share of that class's main hands, not of all main hands. 8 main hands exist as more than one record with the same name and the same base stats. We count each piece once, with the wearings of both records combined.

Official-sample 2026-10-18 Sample: n=1,600 characters (top 200 per class), sampled 2026-10-18.

Across the eight classes the average top weapon covers 86% of a class's main hands, and the top two together cover 93%. That means most characters in a class share the same main hand.

How concentrated is each class's weapon choice?

Official-sample 2026-10-18

Ranking the classes by the share of their top main hand gives Ranger (90%), Templar (88%), Assassin (88%), Chanter (86%), Gladiator (85%), Sorcerer (85%), Cleric (83%) and Spiritmaster (82%). The spread between the first and last is 7.6 percentage points.

Every class sits at 82% or more, so each has a clear first pick and a new player can aim at one item. The classes differ only a little: Ranger is the most concentrated at 90% and Spiritmaster the least at 82%. The rest of the class spreads over the other main hands, and the number of different items per class runs from 4 to 8.

Grade adds a second axis. The share of main hands graded Legend in the armory is highest for Templar at 2%, and Chanter, Sorcerer and Spiritmaster show none. We do not rank Legend above Unique, because its piece item levels differ; the first gear setup guide explains how we read grades.

Off hand choices

Official-sample 2026-10-18

The off hand is a guard. Fill rates run from 100% to 100% across classes. It is less class-bound than the main hand, so classes share some items.

Official-sample 2026-10-18

All eight classes sit at the same main hand median enchant, +10. Pooled across classes, the main hand median is +10 and the off hand median is +8.

For rates, costs and pity, see the enchanting guide. For other slots, see enchant priorities by slot. The tier list ranks classes, not weapons.

What to do with this (editorial)

Editorial 2026-10-19

  • Start from your class's most worn weapon. It is the safest target, and for a concentrated class it is clear.
  • Do not wait for the perfect weapon. The top two picks cover most of a class, so the choice is narrow.
  • Spend enchant where strong players do. The main hand carries the highest median enchant of any slot in the sample.
  • Check the item page before swapping. The page lists base stats at enchant 0 and at the most common enchant level.

Not confirmed yet

These points have no reliable Global source yet. Do not plan around them.

  • How weapon base stats convert into damage for each class. No source publishes it.
  • Why the official data keeps two records under one name when their base stats are identical.
  • Where each weapon drops. Source labels exist, but not drop locations or rates.
  • Whether the most worn weapon is the best one, or only the one most players can get.
  • Whether weapon choice changes with build, because the sample gives no per-character build tags.

Aion 2 weapon choices by class FAQ

Which weapon should I use as a new level 45?

Start from the most worn main hand for your class in the table above. For example, Spiritforged Bow for Ranger. It is a common pick, not proven best.

Are weapons class-locked?

Main hands are class-bound in this data: none is worn by more than one class.

Which class has the most varied weapon choice?

All classes are tightly concentrated. Ranger is the most concentrated at 90% and Spiritmaster the least at 82%.

Do the off hands differ by class?

Partly. 10 off hand items are worn by more than one class, against 0 main hands.

How high do players enchant weapons?

The pooled median is +10 for the main hand and +8 for the off hand.

Why do some weapons share a name?

The official data can hold two records with the same name and the same base stats. We treat them as one piece and combine their wearings in every table.

How current is this page?

It is built from n=1,600 characters (top 200 per class), sampled 2026-10-18 and refreshes daily.
